| Tracy Cordova was raised in the Dallas Metroplex area and was a forth generation Texan until 1976 when she moved to Denver and the Front Range. Although she liked Denver, there was a brown cloud problem even greater than it is now. Having two young children to raise, and looking for a healthier place to raise them, Tracy soon looked to the Upper Arkansas Valley as home. "I always passed through this area on the way to vacation in places like Gunnison, Taylor Park and Spring Creek Resort. On the way back to Denver I always said this was the most beautiful part of Colorado and I wanted to retire in the Arkansas Valley area." Well, shortly after that revelation, she sold their home in Denver and gave Salida a try. Salida has been home since 1981. The family soon grew bigger when she married Pete Cordova, an attorney in Salida. Their five children were always engaged in some sort of sports in the Salida RJ-32 school district and, of course, skiing and snowboarding. "It truly was a dream to raise all five kids here and I would suggest it to anyone over a big city." | Jeannette was born in Salina, Kansas. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1975, one month after her son was born. She worked as a paralegal until 1993, when she started her own business as a private investigator. After spending almost every other weekend driving to the Salida area, Jeannette and her husband, Chuck, decided to look for their future retirement home. In September of 1999, on the last day of their vacation, they put an offer on a home in Swissvale and decided, "Why wait for retirement."
